Bandai Namco will quickly connect with Hipster Whale, individuals behind the rather successful game Crossy Road, to have them put their own style into the development a new Pac-Man game. This new game will be called Pac-Man 256 and it won’t be your typical dot eating game. Hipster Whale has put a pretty unique twist in to the game’s tried and tested formula it has been using for35 years now. Oh, for those that are not aware, Pac-Man has turned 35 today.
[UPDATE: Wednesday, August 19th – 4:56 AM, PST] If you’ve been missing that puzzle-chomping game Pac-Man, then you’re in luck. Bandai Namco and Hipster Whale have recreated Pac-Man’s world with their new game Pac-Man 256. The sport has become open to download for free in the Google Play Store. The game does include in-app purchases, if you undertake to consider benefit of them. The hyperlink to download the game can be found at the end of this article.
So what is Pac-Man 256? This new game is not a level-based arcade game rather it is an endless maze runner. You still need to eat dots and steer clear of those ghosts who wish to kill you obviously. There’s, however, one new additional threat you have to be aware of which is actually a relentless wave of pixelated ‘gibberish’ that is constantly threatening to overtake the entire screen. If you’re a retro game fanatic, and accustomed to stick to the world of competitive arcade gameplay for world records, this might actually seem familiar to you.
What the initial arcade Pac-Man level 256 glitch appeared as if.
The reason we say it is because the gibberish that’s threatening to overtake the screen is actually based off of the original Pac-Man game which, when you arrive on level 256, would wind up corrupting the game’s maze with that level as a result of programming bug, essentially making the sport unplayable at that point. Pac-Man isn’t only game to possess suffered from this sort of bug back in the day either. Donky Kong was another game that had an identical bug.
Pac-Man 256 isn’t played such as the usual Pac-Man games either. Rather than the typical overhead view, players will be playing Pac-Man 256 in an isometric perspective that could add a bit of extra challenge towards the game. While there are the classic four ghosts within this game, there’s also newer and more effective and differently colored ones to understand as well.
When farmville launches, which will be come july 1st for smartphone and tablets, it will be free-to-play. What this means is we can expect optional IAPs being in farmville and quite possibly the recording ad viewing system found in Crossy Route to earn in-game currency rather than having to buy it. This system makes Hipster Whale a good slice of money while letting players earn lots of in-game currency by choice, instead of needing to buy extra in-game currency when they require it.
